Well here i am.
Well this weekend was pretty eventful. I spent about every second with Bailey and we had a great girls weekend. We saw Valentine's Day, I definitely recommend seeing it. We also went bowling! Yes, I really am not that great of a bowler but it was a lot of fun. We played 6 games and spent 3 hours at the bowling alley. Lets just say we have perfected ways to NOT bowl. But oh well. It gave me some good practice for tonight. This week is Greek Spirit week and there is a bowling competition tonight and I somehow ended up on the Sigma Kappa team. I think its because I am althetic and they think that somehow transfers to bowling. Oopsie. I dont think it does but i wont tell them that. Anyhoo, it should be fun. The Sigma Kappa basketball team has yet to win a game, but its still pretty funny watching sorority girls try and play. I look like a definite BALLER out there. haha just kidding. but not really. Well, thats all I have for tonight! See you all in less than a month now!!

its valentines day.

So today, Feb 14, is valentines day. It is very interesting to me to see how different people feels about this holiday. It seems like everyone in a relationship enjoys this day and everyone single hates it. However, I for some reason dont have a problem with the holiday. I am single and yet still enjoy the idea of this day. I feel like it is not only for people in a relationship but just a day to let everyone know that is important in your life that you love them. So, everyone back home, I miss you all and love you. I hope you have a wonderful Valentines Day!

And I'm Back!
So, i'm finally updating my blog again. Its been almost a month and a half. So i thought it was about time. But anyways.....
I am now busy with my second semester here at Mines. Its been pretty great so far and i love being back. Being home for a month was great and very relaxing. My parents can vouch for me when I say I did ABSOLUTELY nothing. Thats right, nothing. But i enjoyed every moment of it. I wouldnt want it anyother way. It was a nice break after a first, tough semester in Colorado at Mines.
This semester is going to be pretty tough just like last semester, but i am ready to take on the challenge and am excited for what i will be learning. I made it past physics 1 last semester and am now in physics 2. AWESOME. but not really. but thats ok cause i am determined to pass. Along with phys 2, i am taking calc 3 (yes, again. last time didnt go so well, but dont worry, I'm over that. this time around i'm expecting to get nothing less than a B, cause i am once again determined to do better). I am also taking chem 2 and NHV. NHV is Nature and Human Values and basically the Mines' version of english. But you cant really call it english. Its basically how to right as an engineer and the ethics and moral issues involved in engineering. Although there will be some writing, it will be no where near as annoying for me as english is. Of course, I also have the mandatory PA class (Physical activity, remember, not PE thats petroleum engineering).
This week is going to be pretty busy because i have now become more involved in my sorority (Sigma Kappa) this semester. Being one of the view members who have played sports, i am the IM sports chair, meaning i must make sure people play. Its not a big position but i'm just starting off small getting used to the time commitment. I'm also apart of Standards Council for the sorority meaning i am part of a committee that makes sure people behave. haha of course i would be apart of that. but the reason this week is so busy, is because it is spring recruitment and we have events to get new members every night. But its fun and i am really enjoying it. Who would have thought me as a sorority girl? not me. but i guess you cant really count my sorority as a normal sorority because of the school I am at but whatever. Its been fun so far and i am looking forward to many more learning and opportunities for me to grow as an individual. Miss you all back in UT! love you!

Finally
So i was having a rough day yesterday and i just needed to listen to some of my favorite songs to help cheer me up. I decided to finally add some music to my blog to give you a taste of what songs i listened to. Currently i cant get enough of Vanilla Twilight and Havent Met You Yet. I play them over and over again. Wild at Heart is just a great song and since its finally December i thought i would throw in a Christmas song, Mistletoe, by the one and only Colbie Caillat. Thats all i have time to write, ive got a busy two weeks ahead of me.

Grad, div, curl of F
So, I am sitting here all alone in my room studying for like the 7 straight hour for my calculus 3 test later this evening, and i have gotten a little bored. Everyone has already left for Thanksgiving break but i will be here until tomorrow morning... Oh well. But i am going over my notes for Calc and i noticed some very funny, disturbing, and quite weird comments i have written down and i want to share them. So here goes. Keep in mind all of these things were said by my professor.
- "The use of r, theta instead of x,y may be advantageous when the integrand (aka the function) and/or the boundary of R are/is most naturally expressed in terms of r, theta." -- Ya sounds fun right?
- He goes through an entire problem then stops after he gets the answer and says "but thats wrong..." --uh... so you showed us what not to do??
- My professor talking about finding the surface area, "this looks horrible and in calculations it is often going to be horrible." -- GREAT!!
- Now he's talking about going from double to triple integrals.... "let's make things worse," after a short laugh from the class... "truthfully." -- doesn't this class sound fun?
- "Line integrals" he does an example, "More line integrals" does another example, "Yet more line integrals" does yet another example.
- "Anticlockwise, or as you Americans say 'counterclockwise'".
- "Spherical polars are just making things worse, so, obviously, choose a different method."
So, basically, this class is a lot of fun.... but good news is after this test i can relax and see my family tomorrow for Thanksgiving break :)
Love ya!
